Jonathan Marino, PhD – Board Director

Jonathan’s professional work is dedicated to promoting equitable access to high-quality early education for young children in the United States and internationally. He is currently a teaching faculty member in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Education Policy and a research fellow in the UW-Madison Center for Research on Early Childhood Education (CRECE).

Before this, He served in a variety of education research and practitioner roles, including as a senior policy analyst at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in Washington DC, a researcher at Save the Children USA, a civic education programs manager in the Chicago Public Schools, and founding director of the Center for Global Engagement at Northwestern University.

As a Board Director of BOSCO Inc., Jonathan has served on the BOSCO Inc. Board since 2013. In that time, I have supported fundraising, website development, and other communication activities and promoted exchange between the US and Ugandan boards, such as arranging Father Joe Okumu’s visit to the United States in 2014. He is currently interested in helping BOSCO, Inc. celebrate its impending 20th anniversary in 2027 and define future directions.

In a time of rapid technological change, rising global inequality, and much uncertainty, BOSCO gives me hope for a future where human beings live out their potential to innovate while also advancing social justice. I have learned more from BOSCO than I have given back and am very grateful for that gift.
